/MISSION
Deutsche Börse Group, a large German securities exchange company, contracted Originate Inc. to create an API Developer Platform. This was an opportunity as an interdisciplinary team to construct a product that would attract both API developers and consumers to our platform. As the lead designer, this was a chance for me to collaborate with engineers and product managers on this major project and meet the first public release deadline within 5 months.
/MY ROLE
I was the main Designer for the first version release of the Digital Business Platform. This includes research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping and iterating.
/CLIENT GOALS
The client wants to put a foothold in the digital market by creating an easy to use API Developer Platform where they can attract potential developers to create APIs to sell to consumers. They wanted to release the first version to the public within 5 months.
/AGILE DESIGN
Due to the timeline and the scope of the work, the team employed an agile design method. We employed this method to help us efficiently manage our time and design the features needed. Our process includes brainstorm new features, rapidly sketch designs, get feedback, iterate on designs, and then hand it off to engineers for testing and production. This process would be done concurrently as I design each feature.

/PROTOTYPING
With the many features and the size of the project, it was important to create an interactive prototype. This helps illustrate the interactions of the various features to the other members of the team. By using a Sketch plugin called Craft, I am able to create comprehensive prototypes in Invision. This tool also helped me consolidate the various designs and large complex prototypes in one file.
